I bought these wheels to rat rod my 1963 Schwinn American. They were not packed very well but were in good condition when I got them. These wheels look totally bombproof, thickest spokes I've ever seen on a bike wheel. Rear hub bearings were too tight when I got them , needed adjustment but that is easy if you have the tools. Check the spoke holes carefully, mine had several places where the wheel building machine missed the spoke and dinged the edge of the spoke hole. This made a nasty burr that would probably eat through the rim strip. I filed these down, again easy but you need to watch out for it. 2 of the spokes in those holes were not tight.
I used some Kenda Kwik 1.9 tires I had laying around and they fit easily under my fenders.Looks really good. I may peel off the stickers that come on the rims, not to my taste.
You need wide rim strips for these, I used 23mm wide ones. Overall a good deal but plan on some tweaking when you get them. Please Check Update Here!!
